We exists to shaping the future of finance. Our team is like an orchestra playing together with different instruments to find the perfect harmony. We drive radical innovation through scanning, exploring and experimenting. Focusing on emerging technologies and new business models. SEBx is a multifaceted team with world class technology expertise.

We believe in close collaborations and in sharing of ideas, and we operate in an ecosystem of academia, big tech, start-ups, other banks and with SEB colleagues.
Our thinking is serious stuff where we need to be both humble and brave.

History

SEBx was founded to keep the bank relevant in the future. And to deal with disruptions and risks.

SEB´s CEO, together with a group of people decided to put together a small team at the fringe of the bank to be the x division.
This team got the mandate to operate outside conventional structures, and legacy processes, but with full access to everything the bank has to offer. 
It was decided that within that mandate, the team independently chooses the best way to act and proceed.

Today, we still exists on these conditions and we are fully dedicated to lead the way into the future of emerging technologies and ground breaking innovations.

2018 - The SEBx innovation studio was started.

2022 - SEBx got its first external customer and the business unit SEB Embedded was born.

2023 - This year SEBx restarts as SEBx 2.0.
